In 1966 U.S. inventors, George Kloosterhouse and Edwin Johanknecht created the first correction fluid formula that could be used on photostatic copying paper, under the name of Wite-Out WO-1 Erasing Liquid.
From 1966 to 1981, the company only marketed water-based products and, in 1981, a fast-drying solvent fluid was introduced.
In 1990, Wite-Out revolutionized the correction products industry by introducing For Everything® Correction Fluid. This fluid was effective for all applications - typerwritten, handwritten, copied or faxed.
In June 1992, Wite-Out® was acquired by the BIC Group.
In 1996, Wite-Out® correction pen was introduced, followed in 1997 by the Wite-Out ® correction tape.
Wite-Out® is a leading correction brand in North America.
